I believe that space activities are impacting society through…
applications of recoverable satellites or spacecrafts to fly various seeds, branches or sprouts. Those are induced to occur genetic mutations by the external conditions of microgravity, various cosmic rays, heavy particles, alternating magnetic field. Then through ground planting to achieve fine quality varieties. There is no external gene in the method of aerospace breeding that does not use the way of transferring gene. It is a new channel of breeding. Aerospace breeding has the characteristics of high rate of mutation, big variation range, fine mutation steadiness and more good mutations. Space gravitational environments effect not only on plants but also on other aspects of human working and living. Space gravitational environments provide microgravity material scientists near to ideal conditions to study phenomena that may impossible on the Earth. It results in great break of photonic information technology and will cause a revolution in information technology.

I believe the space activities are impacting society through launching Earth observation satellites, communication satellites and navigation fix satellites which can be used for disaster detection and evaluation, resources utilization and development, environment observation and protection, tele-medicine, tele-education, high speed communication and navigation support.

The following are typical examples of CBERS(China Brazil Earth Resources Satellite) Data Applications

1. Crop classification, investigation of crop planting area, monitoring of wheat and cotton growth.

2. Investigation of land use status quo in western parts of China.

3. Forest resources exploration, including exploration of planting area and growth conditions.

4. Water resources exploration and monitoring, soil moisture exploration, exploration of water losses and soil erosion, water demand in agriculture.

5. Regional geologic map spotting with the scale of 1:50,000 to 1:200,000 including the exploration of lithology and structure.

6. Update and modification to the topographical map with the scale of 1:250,000 and the experimental research of topographical map survey for the scale of 1:50,000.

7. Investigation of the sources and environments of sand and dust storms, monitoring of sand and dust storms incorporating with meteorological satellite data.

8. Monitoring of water pollution, urban environment monitoring, urban virescence investigation.

9. Sustainable development research for the delta areas in Yellow River.

10. Exploration of geological disasters, landslide, and so on.

11. Exploration and monitoring of underground coal mineral.

12. Resources and environmental investigations of coastal zones.

For most people in the world it’s true that wherever they go, whatever they do, it’s impossible without application of space science and technology.

Humans, in their long history in 1957, began to seek and is still seeking unknown world dream to escape the earthly environment to brave the space.

Exploring space for peaceful purpose is a great challenge that promotes international cooperation of human and stimulates nations to create a new world along with fostering technological advances. Impact of space activities on national security, social progress, people living, comprehensive national strength in the word exceed anything’s that preceded it.
